As a co-signatory of the so-called Arboconvenant PKGV-industry in 2001 we committed ourselves to improve health and safety at work. The improvements focus on care for health, safety and well-being, machine safety, effects of harmful noise, early re-integration, work pressure, heat stress and communication.
We see our policy and efforts being rewarded with for example a continuing decrease in the numbers of accidents leading to absence and a reduction in the illness rate. In 2005 we were given the Arbo Trophy Award of the Royal Netherlands' Paper and Board Association for best performing company within the Arboconvenant in the last 12 months.

Changing behaviour and awareness are important elements in our approach. Training, unremitting attention and appropriate facilities are important means to reach our target.
